Instead, they began to practice their religion again. This is why there are some Berbers who claim to be Arab.
The Berbers are a nomadic people originally from North Africa. They push out of North Africa by the Romans and later the Arabs. The Berbers are now a minority in Morocco and Algeria.
Berber pride is resurgent, often symbolized by the Berber letter Ж. Many people are proud to show this letter on their clothing, which uses in schools. However, the majority language in the country is still Arabic.
