Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Chefchaouen

Kick off your 10-day Moroccan adventure from Tangier. We’ll pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier, also known as “the bride of the north.” Located where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Spartel, Tangier is your gateway to a remarkable journey. We’ll start by exploring the city’s highlights, including the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel, followed by lunch at your leisure. Then, we’ll journey inland, passing through Tetouan and the Rif mountains, before arriving in Chefchaouen. Along the way, we’ll make stops for breathtaking panoramic views. Finally, we’ll drop you off at your hotel in Chefchaouen for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Chefchaouen, the Blue City

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the charm of Chefchaouen, often referred to as Achaoun, meaning “horns” in Berber. Nestled in the Rif mountains of northwest Morocco, Chefchaouen is renowned for its blue and white buildings and winding alleyways. Explore the enchanting old Medina, adorned with authentic blue doors, and enjoy leisure time for lunch. In the afternoon, take a hike to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic view of the city. Return to your hotel for another overnight stay in Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, take a leisurely stroll through Chefchaouen’s captivating alleyways before we depart for the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Volubilis boasts well-preserved mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways. After exploring the ruins, we’ll journey 30 kilometers to Meknes, the Ismaili capital, to visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then, we’ll head to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Fes

After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and a cultural and religious hub. Begin with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by a stroll through the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore landmarks such as the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), Medrasa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world. Afterward, venture into the Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah, and ascend to an ancient fortress for panoramic views of Fes before returning to your riad.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara

After breakfast, depart from Fes and journey southward through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and snow-capped peaks. Continue to the Cedar Forest, home to Barbary macaques, where you can enjoy a stroll and interact with these fascinating creatures. Next, head to Midelt for lunch before traversing the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the Ziz Valley, pausing for breathtaking panoramic views. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon to embark on a camel ride across the dunes, culminating in a stunning sunset. Spend the night in a unique camp blending nomadic tents with luxurious amenities, where you’ll enjoy Berber music around a campfire under the starlit sky.

Day 6: Exploration of Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove

After breakfast, set out to explore the diverse landscapes of the Merzouga region. Discover ancient eyeliner mines, visit nomadic families in their traditional tents, and experience the rhythmic beats of Gnaoua music in Khamlia village. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant before wandering through lush palm groves and marveling at the beauty of Merzouga Lake, also known as the Flamingo Lake. Return to Merzouga for dinner and overnight accommodation in a hotel.

Day 7: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Rise early to witness the majestic sunrise over the Sahara Desert before enjoying breakfast. Depart from Merzouga and visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, where you can explore its bustling souk. Continue to Erfoud to visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Journey through the scenic Todra Gorges, a paradise for rock climbers, and marvel at the towering red cliffs. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Dades Valley, with stops at the unique “monkey fingers” rock formation and scenic overlooks. Conclude the day with dinner and overnight accommodation in a hotel.

Day 8: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura Palm Groves – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, depart from the Dades Valley and visit Kalaa Magouna to explore the fragrant Rose Valley, known for its annual Rose Festival. Journey through the Skoura Palm Groves and visit the historic Kasbah of Amredhyle before reaching Ouarzazate, where you can visit film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. Continue to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in numerous films and TV shows. Explore the Telouet Kasbah before crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Enjoy scenic stops for lunch and photo opportunities before arriving in Marrakech for an overnight stay in a riad.

Day 9: Guided Tour of Marrakech

Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a guided tour of Marrakech, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Explore highlights such as the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and the bustling souks. Enjoy lunch near Jemaa El-Fna square before visiting the Koutoubia Mosque and the tranquil Majorelle Garden. Return to your accommodation with free time to explore Jemaa El-Fna square at your leisure.

Day 10: Departure from Casablanca

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your Marrakech accommodation and drive to Casablanca, where you’ll be dropped off at the airport in time for your departure flight. If time allows, we may visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque before bidding farewell, marking the end of your unforgettable 10-day Moroccan journey from Tangier.
